Study seeks to solve sickle cell pain relief puzzle
NCT ID NCT07246265
Summary
This study aims to understand why morphine, a strong painkiller, often doesn't work well enough for adults with sickle cell disease during severe pain crises. Researchers will measure how quickly patients' kidneys filter morphine to see if faster filtration leads to underdosing. The goal is to create personalized dosing guidelines so patients get effective pain relief when they need it most.
