Monthly anemia shot works as well as weekly in dialysis patients

NCT ID NCT00560404

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tested whether a once-monthly injection of Mircera could keep hemoglobin levels stable in dialysis patients with anemia, compared to the standard epoetin alfa given more often. About 233 adults on dialysis took part. The goal was to see if the monthly shot was as safe and effective at maintaining healthy red blood cell levels.
