Summary
This study tested whether giving montelukast before surgery reduces pain and the need for strong painkillers in children aged 3-8 having their tonsils removed. Half the children received montelukast and half a placebo. Researchers tracked pain scores, opioid use, and calls or visits to the doctor for pain in the first month after surgery.
