Brain oxygen monitor for babies during surgery – study pulled before it started
NCT ID NCT04132414
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study planned to test whether a non-invasive brain oxygen monitor (NIRS) could help prevent dangerously low oxygen levels in premature babies, newborns, and infants during non-cardiac surgery. The goal was to see if adding this monitor to standard care would reduce brain oxygen dips. However, the study was withdrawn before enrolling any participants, so no results are available.
