First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tested a new custom-designed omega-shaped bone plate against standard miniplates for fixing broken jaws near the mental nerve. Twelve adults with jaw fractures were split into two groups, and the custom plates were made using virtual surgery and 3D printing. Researchers checked pain, swelling, mouth opening, and bone healing over six months to see if the new plate worked better.
