First seen Dec 04, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tested a small change in cataract surgery for people with brown cataracts, a dense type that usually needs more ultrasound energy to break up. Surgeons created a groove in the lens and then rinsed it with saline for 30 seconds before using ultrasound. The goal was to see if this could shorten the ultrasound time. The study included 20 adults with brown cataracts and was completed at Assiut University.
