New surgical trick cuts ultrasound time for brown cataracts
NCT ID NCT07252154
First seen Dec 04, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tested a small change in cataract surgery for people with brown cataracts. Instead of the usual method, surgeons first rinsed the lens with saline for 30 seconds after making a groove. The goal was to see if this could reduce the time needed for ultrasound power during surgery. The study included 20 adults with brown cataracts, but not those with white or soft cataracts.
