Phone app aims to curb addiction, but study stops short
NCT ID NCT06208839
Summary
This study tested whether adding a special mobile app to standard primary care could help people reduce risky drug or alcohol use more effectively. About 117 adults with moderate to high-risk substance use were randomly assigned to receive either the app plus standard care or standard care alone. The goal was to see if the digital tools helped people cut down on use and connect to treatment, but the trial was terminated before completion.
