First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This early-stage study tested a single injection of a new long-acting malaria medicine (MMV371) in 32 healthy adults to see if it is safe and how the body processes it. Participants received either the real drug or a placebo, and were monitored for side effects and injection site reactions for about 12 weeks. The goal is to gather initial safety data before testing in people with malaria.
