New HIV drug MK-4646 enters early human testing

Summary

This early-stage study tests a new experimental drug, MK-4646, in 28 people with HIV-1 who have never taken HIV medication. The main goals are to see if the drug is safe and tolerable, and to measure how much it lowers the amount of virus in the blood. Participants will take the drug alone for a short time before starting standard HIV therapy.
