Virtual reality meets physical therapy: new hope for MS hand weakness?

NCT ID NCT06968676

First seen May 20, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether using mixed reality (a blend of real and virtual environments) during physical therapy can improve hand strength, coordination, and daily function in people with multiple sclerosis. Thirty adults with MS will be randomly assigned to either standard therapy or standard therapy plus mixed reality exercises in virtual rooms like a kitchen and garden. Researchers will measure changes in grip strength, dexterity, fatigue, and quality of life over 10 weeks.
