New hope for Tough-to-Treat head and neck cancers
NCT ID NCT02369458
Summary
This study tested whether the chemotherapy drug mitomycin C could help control advanced head and neck cancers that had stopped responding to all standard treatments. It involved 48 adults whose cancer had spread or returned and could not be cured by surgery or radiation. The main goal was to see if the drug could shrink tumors and slow the cancer's progression.
