Summary

This study tested a chemotherapy drug called mitomycin C in 48 adults with advanced head and neck cancer that had stopped responding to standard treatments. The goal was to see if the drug could shrink tumors. The trial focused on two groups: patients with HPV-related tonsil/base-of-tongue cancer and those with HPV-unrelated head and neck cancer.
