Blood biomarker may spot lung scarring early

NCT ID NCT03457935

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a molecule called miR200 in the blood can help identify early-stage idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a serious lung-scarring disease. Researchers will compare blood samples from 450 people, including those with IPF, other lung diseases, and healthy volunteers. The goal is to find a simple blood test that could lead to earlier detection.
