New finger surgery method may speed up recovery
NCT ID NCT07209605
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study compares two surgical techniques for repairing a torn ligament in the finger (volar plate injury). The standard method uses a suture that passes through the skin, which can cause irritation and delay movement. The newer method uses a small internal anchor, which may allow earlier motion and fewer complications. The trial will enroll 12 adults aged 18-55 with isolated closed injuries and measure range of motion after surgery.
