Can your phone help you quit smoking? mindfulness texts put to the test

NCT ID NCT04965181

Summary

This study tested whether a mindfulness-based text messaging program, alone or combined with counseling, helps people quit smoking. 504 adult smokers in Atlanta who wanted to quit received nicotine patches and lozenges, plus different combinations of text messages and virtual counseling sessions. Researchers measured how many people successfully stopped smoking at 8, 12, and 24 weeks.
