Mindfulness training tested to break the cycle of drug addiction relapse

NCT ID NCT07161986

Summary

This study tested whether a mindfulness-based strategy could help adults recovering from drug addiction stay drug-free, compared to standard treatment. Researchers worked with 130 people in rehabilitation centers to see if mindfulness training reduced cravings and the risk of relapse. The goal was to see if learning mindfulness skills provides better long-term control over addiction than usual care alone.
