Can calming your mind help control diabetes?

NCT ID NCT04016415

Summary

This study tested whether a 6-month online mindfulness course could help adults with uncontrolled type 1 or type 2 diabetes better manage their blood sugar compared to a standard stress management class. Over 300 participants with high stress levels were randomly assigned to take one of the two live, virtual classes. Researchers measured changes in blood sugar levels (HbA1c), stress, and diabetes-related distress over six months to see if mindfulness training offered unique benefits.
