A calming breath before surgery: can it prevent dangerous blood pressure drops?
NCT ID NCT07494955
Summary
This study is testing whether a simple, 5-minute guided breathing exercise can help prevent a common and significant drop in blood pressure that often occurs after spinal anesthesia for planned cesarean sections. Researchers will compare the blood pressure and anxiety levels of 150 pregnant women who either do the breathing exercise or receive standard care before their procedure. The goal is to see if this non-drug approach can make the anesthesia safer and the experience less stressful for mothers.
