Breathe easy: quick mindfulness exercise may prevent dangerous blood pressure drops during C-Sections

NCT ID NCT07494955

First seen Mar 31, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests whether a short, guided breathing exercise done right before spinal anesthesia can help prevent a dangerous drop in blood pressure during planned C-sections. About 150 pregnant women will be randomly assigned to either do the breathing exercise or receive standard care. The goal is to see if this simple technique can also reduce anxiety and the need for medication to raise blood pressure.
