Mindfulness app may ease anxiety and boost recovery after ACL surgery
NCT ID NCT05542563
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether using a mindfulness app for 8 weeks can improve quality of life, reduce anxiety and depression, and help people return to sports after ACL reconstruction surgery. About 47 participants aged 16-40 will use the app and report their progress through questionnaires. The goal is to see if a simple, remote program can ease the mental and emotional challenges of recovery.

- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a simple, app-based way to help ACL surgery patients feel less anxious, less depressed, and more ready to return to sports.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial with only 47 people. The app may not provide significant benefits over standard care, and results may not apply to everyone.
