First seen Jun 12, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study explores whether mindful walking—combining walking with simple mindfulness techniques—can improve brain function in older adults at risk for Alzheimer's and related dementias. Researchers will enroll 54 sedentary adults aged 60 and older with risk factors like family history or mild memory concerns. Participants will be randomly assigned to either mindful walking or regular walking for 8 supervised sessions over 4 weeks, and brain activity will be measured using a safe, non-invasive headband.
