Can a 4-Week online program help teens cope better?
NCT ID NCT07513220
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests two versions of a mindful self-compassion program for adolescents aged 14-19. One focuses on formal practices (like meditation) and the other on informal practices (like self-kindness in daily life). Participants attend weekly online sessions for four weeks and complete surveys about coping, stress, anxiety, and school engagement. The goal is to see if these programs improve coping and mental health compared to a waitlist group.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- mindful self-compassion programs (behavioral intervention)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could show that brief, online mindful self-compassion programs help teens cope better with stress and improve their mental health.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage study (135 participants) comparing two behavioral programs to a waitlist. Results may not apply to all teens, and the programs may not work for everyone.
