First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This early-stage study tests whether a miltefosine gel applied to the skin can safely treat uncomplicated cutaneous leishmaniasis, a parasitic infection that causes skin sores. Fifteen adults will apply the gel daily for 28 days and be monitored for healing and side effects. The goal is to find the right dose and see if further testing is warranted.
