First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This early-stage study tests whether a gel containing the drug miltefosine can safely treat skin sores from cutaneous leishmaniasis, a parasitic disease. Fifteen adults with 1-4 sores will apply the gel daily for 28 days and be monitored for healing and side effects. The goal is to see if this topical approach is promising enough for larger trials.
