Warmer surgery? study tests if less cooling reduces brain and kidney injury
NCT ID NCT02860364
Summary
This study is testing whether using a warmer body temperature during a specific type of major heart surgery is safer than using a colder one. Researchers will compare two cooling levels in 282 patients having elective aortic arch surgery. The goal is to see if the warmer temperature reduces the risk of brain injury, kidney problems, and other complications after the operation.
