Summary
This study looks at how gut bacteria change and help the remaining intestine work better after surgery for short bowel syndrome. Researchers will follow 15 adults who have had part of their intestine removed and are scheduled for a second surgery to reconnect the bowel. The goal is to see if certain bacteria help the intestine absorb more nutrients over time.
