Tiny incision, big difference? new study tests micro surgery for glaucoma
NCT ID NCT02598765
First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compared two surgical methods for glaucoma: a standard trabeculectomy and a newer 'micro' version. Researchers measured how well each surgery lowered eye pressure and how often complications occurred in the first 3 months after surgery. 100 adults with glaucoma who were already planning to have this surgery took part. The goal was to see if the micro approach is safer and just as effective.
