New hybrid heart surgery could mean faster recovery for patients with multiple blockages

NCT ID NCT07314138

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study compares a newer, less invasive heart surgery (hybrid revascularization) to the standard open-heart bypass surgery in 250 people with three blocked heart arteries. The hybrid approach uses small chest incisions to bypass the left side arteries and a stent to open the right artery. The goal is to see if the hybrid method leads to fewer complications and a quicker recovery within 30 days after surgery.
