Kratom compound MG001 enters first human safety trial

Summary
This early-stage study is the first to test MG001, a compound from the kratom plant, in people. About 32 healthy adults who have used opioids recently will receive a single dose of MG001 or a placebo. Researchers will monitor for side effects and measure how the drug moves through the body to gather initial safety data.
