First seen Mar 22, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tested two treatments for people with advanced cancer who had no other options. One group received a low-dose chemotherapy pill (cyclophosphamide) taken daily, and the other group received a hormone pill (megestrol). The main goal was to see how many patients in each group were alive without their cancer getting worse after 2 months. The study enrolled 88 adults with various cancers (except breast cancer) and good physical condition.
