First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tests whether metreleptin, a synthetic version of the hormone leptin, can help people with anorexia nervosa feel less depressed and gain weight. About 50 hospitalized adults will receive either metreleptin or a placebo, and researchers will track mood, weight, and brain changes over several weeks. The goal is to find a new way to make treatment easier and more effective.
