Summary
This study tested whether metformin, a common diabetes medicine, can improve exercise ability and quality of life in older adults with a type of heart failure called HFpEF. 86 participants took either metformin or a placebo for 20 weeks. Researchers measured changes in oxygen use during exercise, gut health, and inflammation.
