Common diabetes drug could ease debilitating fibromyalgia pain
NCT ID NCT05900466
Summary
This study is testing if a low dose of the diabetes medication metformin can safely reduce the widespread pain and other symptoms of fibromyalgia. Researchers will compare metformin against a placebo pill in 72 participants to see if it improves pain, fatigue, sleep, and mood. The goal is to see if this widely available drug could become a new, non-addictive treatment option for this chronic condition.
