First seen Nov 05, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looks at whether children with metal plates, screws, or rods have higher metal levels in their blood and tissues. Researchers will test blood and tissue samples from 50 children aged 4–18 who are scheduled for surgery involving metal implants. The goal is to understand if these implants cause harmful metal buildup and whether removal or different materials might be needed.
