Summary
This study looked at how the body uses energy during two types of leg exercise: eccentric (lengthening muscle) and concentric (shortening muscle). Fourteen healthy young women did both exercises until they were exhausted. Researchers measured oxygen use, muscle oxygen, and blood markers to understand the differences. This is a basic science study, not a treatment.
