Scientists track 'Cancer Gene' through generations to unlock disease secrets

NCT ID NCT03830229

Summary

This study aims to understand how inherited gene mutations, particularly in the BAP1 gene, lead to cancers like mesothelioma. Researchers will follow 1,000 participants, including mesothelioma patients and their family members who carry these mutations, for many years. The goal is to observe their health over time through regular check-ups, scans, and genetic analysis to learn how and when cancer develops.
