First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tested the drug ibrutinib in 35 people with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) who still had small amounts of cancer cells after their first treatment. The goal was to see if ibrutinib could completely clear those leftover cells from the blood and bone marrow. Ibrutinib works by blocking signals that help cancer cells grow. The study measured how many patients achieved a deep remission with no detectable cancer.
