First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested two treatments for meralgia paresthetica, a condition causing pain, numbness, and tingling in the outer thigh. 22 adults who did not get better with simple treatments received either a steroid injection or a pulsed radiofrequency ablation (a procedure using heat) to calm the affected nerve. The goal was to see which treatment reduced pain more effectively.
