NCT ID NCT05138250
First seen May 20, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested whether mepolizumab, a drug already used for asthma, can help people with COPD who have frequent flare-ups and high levels of certain immune cells (eosinophils). Thirty-one participants took the drug for a year and had special MRI scans to measure lung inflammation at the start, after 12 weeks, and after a year. The goal was to see if early reductions in inflammation led to fewer flare-ups and better quality of life.
