Peppermint power: new colonoscopy rinse aims to find more polyps
NCT ID NCT07501975
First seen Apr 03, 2026 · Last updated Jun 09, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tests a special rinse solution used during colonoscopy. The rinse combines menthol (from peppermint) to relax the colon and simethicone to clear bubbles, which may help doctors see and remove more polyps. About 500 adults getting a colonoscopy will be randomly assigned to receive the new rinse or a standard one. The main goal is to see if the new rinse increases the number of polyps found.
