NCT ID NCT07009444
First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested a short online exercise for people with high social anxiety. After learning about anxiety, some participants imagined approaching a feared social situation while others did not. The goal was to see if this mental imagery increased motivation and helped them actually face the situation in the following week. 136 adults took part, and the study measured their feelings of pleasure, motivation, and how often they confronted their fears.
