What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
culturally adapted cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) delivered online by trained lay providers
What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide an effective, accessible mental health treatment for displaced populations facing anxiety, depression, and PTSD.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage feasibility study with only 90 participants, so results may not apply broadly. The intervention is delivered by non-professionals, which may affect consistency and outcomes.
