New therapy aims to ease Teens' pain and anxiety before major back surgery

NCT ID NCT05774002

Summary

This study is testing a special mental health program designed to help teenagers who are having surgery for scoliosis (a curvature of the spine). The program uses counseling techniques to help manage anxiety, depression, and pain before and after the operation. Researchers want to see if this support leads to better recovery and less need for strong pain medications.
