Mentor moms offer lifeline to pregnant women in disaster zones
NCT ID NCT05838404
Summary
This study is testing a program to help improve mental health for pregnant women living in areas that have recently experienced a natural disaster, like a hurricane. Pregnant participants will meet in small groups led by an experienced mother-mentor to learn coping skills and build supportive relationships. Researchers want to see if this peer support approach can effectively reduce feelings of anxiety and depression during pregnancy.
