First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tests whether a workshop led by fellow firefighters can help prevent PTSD, depression, anxiety, and alcohol problems in new firefighter trainees. About 480 recruits will take part in either an emotion regulation workshop or a standard education session during their academy training. They will complete surveys before, right after, and up to two years after the workshop to see which approach works better.
