Can helping refugee moms heal also help their kids thrive?
NCT ID NCT07062341
Summary
This study is testing whether a group-based stress management course for refugee mothers can improve their own mental health and also lead to better wellbeing for their preschool-aged children. The program is being offered to 725 mother-child pairs in a refugee settlement in Uganda. Researchers will measure the mothers' distress and the children's wellbeing one year after the course to see if the benefits last and pass from mother to child.
