NCT ID NCT07291518
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looked at whether the menstrual cycle affects pain after root canal treatment. 99 patients (72 women and 27 men) took part. Women were grouped by cycle phase: menstrual, proliferative, or secretory. All received the same root canal procedure. Women in the menstrual and secretory phases reported more pain than men, while those in the proliferative phase had similar pain levels to men. The findings suggest that cycle timing may influence short-term pain after treatment.
