New 5-in-1 meningitis shot for babies tested in africa
NCT ID NCT05093829
Summary
This study tested a new vaccine designed to protect infants against five major strains of deadly bacterial meningitis (A, C, W, Y, and X). Over 1,300 healthy infants in Mali received either the new vaccine or an existing one at either 9 or 15 months of age, alongside their routine shots. The main goal was to see if the new vaccine was as safe and effective at triggering protective immunity as the current vaccine, and if it interfered with other routine infant vaccinations.
