First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tested whether a technique called membrane stripping, done during early labor, could help first-time mothers progress faster and avoid a C-section. 71 women with full-term, single pregnancies took part. The goal was to see if this simple procedure could safely reduce the number of C-sections by shortening the early phase of labor.
